About the skins Skriv ut!

A Bioskin is a vegetable tanned lamb skin from Gotland. Vegetable tanning is an old natural process in harmony with and with total respect for nature. Plants like Tara and Mimosa contain a high percentage of tanning agents. The plant is gathered and extracted, the powder is used as a tanning agent. The tanning agent gives the suede side of the skin its colour. A vegetable tanned skin gets darker over the years, it is a quality guarantee. No chemicals that are harmful to the environment have been used in the lengthy tanning process.
The skin is biodegradable. The skin is a product with total respect for our health, it is recommended for people with a metal allergy and can be worn in direct contact with your own skin.

When you choose a Bioskin with its big environmental benefits, it enhances your quality of life.

The colour of the wool varies in the entire greyscale, and the length varies depending on its character, from unclipped, clipped before slaughter, rug clipped and fur clipped to short clipped. Skins with full wool length are mimosa tanned at a Demeter-certified farm tannery in England. Skins with lower quality wool are mimosa tanned to nappa skins.

The stamps on the skins are guarantees for environment and quality, both in the process and as a product. Each skin is marked with indication of origin.

Care instructions:
Give the skin an airing, then shake it and vacuum it. If any dirt should stick to the wool, it can be cleaned with washing-up detergent and a brush. Stains on the suede side are removed with a natural rubber brush. A vegetable tanned skin is washed by hand like wool with the appropriate detergent and is softened while it is drying.
Big ewe skins are dry-cleaned with "hydrocarbon wash with regreasing".
