"Beautiful skins" is a film documentary where the traditional method of preparing skins by hand is described. We follow the lambs from birth in early spring to sexual maturity and slaughter in autumn.
The lambs are slaughtered at the farm where the skins are taken care of, salted and stored.
In "Beautiful skins" all phases of the various working stages are described; scraping, rinsing, washing, conservation bath, drying and finishing.
The work is done in my workshop at Snevide in Havdhem. "Beautiful skins" was filmed in the southern part of the island Gotland in 1999 and 2000. The film is a product of Gotland since all participants live and work on the island.
